Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:1-4)
Sometimes we may go through situations in life and begin to question God, asking why would YOU allow me to go through these things. We cry and feel restless as we struggle in our everyday life, we become weak in the mist of darkness. Our heart becomes soft as we get lost on the narrow road which leads us to the higher rock, the rock which is steady and strong.
Obstacles are placed in our paths and we cry saying why? Why? But God has allowed these obstacles for two reasons. First, he knows what you can handle and overcome. Despite our own thoughts and feelings, God knows what we can conquer. It is US, who do not believe in our faith in God to defeat these problems. Which leads to my second point, sometimes God allows things to happen so we can seek him and hide among his presence. To rely in him, as he is the only one who can set us free…for he is our Strong Tower, shelter and defense. Nothing can come against him! Our enemies will not be able to be in the same place as long as long as we seek refuge and run into our shelter which is
GOD!
Proverbs 18: 10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe!
Will you run in?
